NEW Page Kit & Video {The Scrapbook Diaries & Maja Design & Dusty Attic!}

I just love it when my design teams line up with product that works so well together! This is what happened with the newest kit page I designed for The Scrapbook Diaries.   Recently Maja Design came out with the sweetest 'Baby' collection called ....

....'Vintage Baby'....and it's exactly that, a collection of papers filled with sweet vintage images and designs that will put a nostalgic look into your baby scrapbook pages!  And at the same time one of my other design teams, Dusty Attic, came out with the cutest chippies for baby layouts!

Janene, at The Scrapbook Diaries, worked her magic pulling together lots of beautiful accents, blooms, paints that helped in creating the sweet lil girl page I created above.

I mean, how cute is that Dusty Attic Baby Banner chippie??  I just love the fine detailing Jennifer Hedger gets into her chipboard designs, right down to the little bows!  And the new baby title chippies....adorable!

Now here's the cool thing, .....this kit can be ordered as a Baby Girl kit OR a Baby Boy kit!  See how there are papers in the Maja Vintage Baby collection that are in pinks and in blues?   Well, I chose 5 of the patterned papers in shades of pinks for the Baby Girl page I made .....and Janene has been super busy creating a kit (and coordinating layout) with a selection of papers in the blues for a Baby Boy kit!  As always I made a step by step video tutorial to go with the kit, to which you'll have unlimited access to with the purchase of the kit.....and the video tutorial will work equally as well for both kits.  And of course there will also be enough product in the kit to create a bonus page for both the Girl and the Boy kit. (You should see the gorgeous sample pages Janene made up to go with each of the kits!)

I've been seeing a lot of new additions to so many of your families on Face Book, so here is your chance to make a beautiful memory page, or a special gift that is suitable for framing!  I was so happy to scrap this photo of my little great-niece Kiera, one of my favorites of the professional shots my nephew (and his wife) had made of their youngest daughter.  If you would like to try this kit out, just hop on over to The Scrapbook Diaries and pick up your choice of either the Girl or Boy kit!....or both if you are fortunate enough to have both boys and girls to scrap!  As always, this is while quantities last :)   You can pick up your Girl kit HERE and the Boy Kit HERE.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today, and thanking all you sweet friends that take the time to leave your kind and supportive feedback, it means a lot to me! xo

Sharing another NEW Stencil I Designed for TCW! {Video Tutorial!!}

Hi all!  Took me a few days but I finally got around to editing a video tutorial I made on how to make this Shabby-Chic wall art piece using another NEW Stencil I designed for The Crafter's Workshop and using some of my Maja Design papers...

I used the 6x6 and 12x12 'Complicated Hearts' stencil to create the heart medallions that were the centerpieces of the wall hanging and to decorate the frame.

I also used the Coffee in the Arbour and Sofiero collection papers by Maja Design to matte my heart designs and add interest to the frame.

Here is a step by step video tutorial I made up showing how I used the stencils to make this piece of Shabby-chic wall art....Enjoy!....

Hope you enjoyed my video tutorial!  Here are a few close-ups of each of the panels on this wall hanging....

I used the 12x12 stencil to add the larger houndstooth design to the framework of the top panel.  I also used the Crackled Textures stamp I designed for  The Scrapbook Diaries on the frame as well.

I used some grey chalk ink (Prima - Old Road) to bring up the textures I added to the framework with my stencil and home-made texture paste.

NOTE:  My stencils have just been released to be ordered by retailers HERE ....this link is for retailers only....You can purchase these stencils at any retailer that carries The Crafter's Workshop Stencils (TCW)....I know that Janene, at The Scrapbook Diaries has then up for PRE-ORDER right now, you can find them HERE. (my Crackle Textures Stamp set can be found there as well) xo

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today!  This is a new venture for me and I just want to say thank-you to all you lovely people who have given me such kind feedback and support on my stencil designs. I'm excited to see what you all will be doing with them! :)

Nautical/Beach themed Wall Art {BoBunny - Boardwalk}

So today is a bitter-sweet post for me....as many of you know, I've been on the BoBunny Design team for over 5 years now and it's been such a joy working with all their beautiful products!  This today is my last post for the BoBunny design team as I've decided to take a little break and step down from the team.  Sometimes it's nice to just take a little breather, so I've been making a few changes this summer. It's nice to have a little more family time over the summer months and maybe a little 'me' time to do a little designing and playing with my art supplies.  .....No worries for those of you who follow my blog, I will still be doing plenty of projects and sharing them here, but it will be at a more relaxed pace, creating on my own time.

I found this shabby-chic looking printer's tray at Michaels by 7 Gypsies (half price!!), I thought the white background would work nicely with the fresh designs and colors in the Bo Bunny Boardwalk collection.  The starfish is again cut from an image in the BoBunny papers, I gave it a little 3D look by lightly misting the design with water and then pushing the hand of my mini scissors into the design (in the palm of my hand).....same with the shell.  The title is a new chippie by Dusty Attic as are the two lil corner scrolls, the chain, screw and seagull chippies. (the title shows up better against the soft aqua paint in my laundry room).

I totally love this lighthouse image, prominent in the designs of the Boardwalk collection.  Here I just cut it out and again gave the paper a little curve to give it a 3D look. I added some pieces of the coordinating chipboard to this collection (I've always loved their layered chipboard designs, like that glittery ships wheel that I linked with the chain link design.  (I gave the chain link chippie a bit of realistic metal look by using some of BoBunny's Chocolate Pearlescents on it).  And finished the design with a little nest in the corner....hey, there's a seagull so I figured a nest would be fitting (even though the eggs are more like Robins eggs, LOL).

Here's a pic of the piece sitting on the shelf in my laundry room.....I take a deep breath and feel peaceful just looking at it....even though I might be toiling away doing laundry :)

Bo Bunny Products used in this project:
Patterned Paper: Boardwalk/Bliss, Boardwalk, Sandcastle, Seaside
6x6 Paper Pad: Boardwalk
Layered Chipboard: Boardwalk
Pearlescents: Chocolate

Dusty Attic Products:
~ Seagulls
~ Mini Corner #2
~ Mini Chains
~ Nuts and Bolts
~ Word Pack #10

I'm sure you will be seeing me use Bo Bunny products in many many more projects in the future as I always adore everything their talented designers create!  This is not good-bye, just 'so long'.  I hope you enjoyed todays post, thanks so much to all of you who take the time to leave your kind comments and feedback, it means so much to me!! (Seriously....thanks everyone for the kind feedback especially on the new designs I came out with for TCW....this is a new venture for me and your positive response makes me so happy! xo xo)

BIG NEWS!!! I've Designed Stencils for The Crafter's Workshop!!! {Video Tutorial too!!}

I've been keeping this exciting little secret for many months now and I'm just bursting to spill it!!  I have 6 new stencils coming out in The Crafter's Workshop NEW RELEASES!! TCW stencils have long been a favorite product to work with in my layouts and art projects, so I was so thrilled to be allowed to design stencils for them!!  The art journal cover above was made using 3 of the 6x6 stencils....

It ended up the 'Tuscan Wall' stencil was a perfect fit for the Dusty Attic Door#3 I used in the cover design!  Here are the pieces I used from Dusty Attic.....

And used some of my favorite Shimmerz Paints  on it as well.  Here are the colors I used to paint/spritz and texture the front and back cover....

Shimmerz Paints:

- Heidi Ho Blue Coloringz
- Glorious Day Vibez
- Chocolate Brownie Coloringz
- Taupe of the World Vibez
- Bamboo Leaf Spritz
- Olive Branch Spritz
- Emerald City Inklingz
- Artichoked Texturez
- Pumpkin Shimmerz
NOTE: Get a FREE/Bonus Shimmerz Paint product in the color of your choice by mentioning my name in the INSTRUCTIONS TO MERCHANT/SELLER part if your next order! Shimmerz Paint Store

So here is a video tutorial I made up showing step by step how I made this cover design....grab a cuppa and enjoy! xo....

Hope you enjoyed my video tutorial and feel inspired to give my stencils and some of these lovely products a try!  Here is a front and back cover view of the design....

Here are a few more close-ups to view at your leisure....

I was so happy that the Dusty Attic chipboard doors fit so nicely to the 6x6 Tuscan Wall Stencil!  I also used some of my Crackle Textures Stamps on this design as you can see on the door panels.  The Stamps are available at The Scrapbook Diaries. (I also know that Janene, at The Scrapbook Diaries has ordered in all the the stencils used in this video! So keep your eye peeled on her store, if you like to order online!)

Here I used my Moving Vines stencil having them peek out from under the corner chipboard design from Dusty Attic (DeVine Frame Set). (Dusty Attic Chipboard can be found at The Scrapbook Diaries and at Moments of Tranquility)

A close-up of the cracked wall texture and the peeled paint stamping.

After I finished the front and back cover designs. I lined the inside with some pretty cardstock. Then reattached the book binding to the cover pieces.

A picture of the back of the book design.  I like to keep it without a lot of embellishing as that part takes more wear and tear as you use the book, so I just stuck to the textures I got from my stencils.

I have 3 more stencil designs to share with you all!  And lots of projects I've made with both the 12x12 and 6x6 stencils!  I'm super excited to see what some of you will be making with them as well!  ....and what is happening with this fun little art journal?  Jaime Echt from Crafters Workshop will be at a paper crafting show this coming weekend (SPC show in Salt Lake City...for any of you vendors attending this show) and will be entering names into a hat for everyone that orders at the show, and a random winner will be chosen to be the proud new owner of this art journal!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today and sharing in my exciting news! Your kind comments and feedback always make my day! xo

Romantic Penny Emporium

Scrapbook Page by Gabrielle Pollacco using Bo Bunny Penny Emporium

I've always loved the combination of grays with plum/purples, and Bo Bunny's Penny Emporium satisfies all my love for this color combo!   I started with a polka dot paper as a frame for the grey background paper (BoBunny Double Dot 'Sugar Dot').  I chose the gray side of the 'Alphabet' paper from Penny Emporium as the background.

I was going for a nice romantic lacy effect so I used some black cardstock with Bo Bunny's Elegant Die throughout the page design.

There are so many wonderful images that can be fussy cut from this collection. I fussy cut the pocket watch design from the 'Captured' paper, adhered with some foam dots and added some glitter paste to give the cutout some dimension.  ...In  the background area I did a little painting using the heart design from BoBunny's stickable stencils (Cascade Stencil).

I embellished the photo area with some flowers from Bo Bunny's Plum Purple Blossoms (Bouquet and Zinnia), I painted up a laser cut butterfly (also new to BoBunny) and added a piece of pearl flourish to the side.

The photo is another lovely shot of my nephew and his wife when they got their engagement photos taken.  ....I hope you enjoyed today's post as much as I enjoyed making it!  Thanks so much for popping in today, your kind comments and feedback always make my day! xo

Watercolor Style Layout - VIDEO TUTORIAL! {Dusty Attic & Shimmerz Paints}

Hello friends!  Gabrielle here with you today! As I've mentioned before, lately I've become totally obsessed with watercolor painting. So today I thought I would create my own watercolor background design using Shimmerz Paints and some NEW and exciting Dusty Attic Chipboard!

I also used the following Shimmerz Paints colors in my project:
~ Don't Citron Me Coloringz
~ Glorious Day Vibez
~ Heidi Ho Blue Coloringz
~ Chocolate Brown Coloringz
~ Power to the Purple Creameez
~ I Lilac You Dazzlerz
~ Teal Me No Lies Texturez

I thought it would be fun to share a video tutorial I created showing step by step how I created this page.....Enjoy!

I hope you enjoyed watching my video tutorial and hope you will give some of the techniques I employed a try!  Here are a few of the close-ups of the page for you to checkout at your leisure....

I so much love all the new Blossom chippies from Dusty Attic, today I used Spring Blossoms #2.  I just gave it a good coat of white Gesso for my base and then added some translucent paint colors (Shimmerz Heidi Ho Blue, Power to The Purple and Don't Citron Me).  I applied them randomly so that they just ran into each other as waterpaints are prone to do.

For the butterflies I used a fun little technique that Dawn from Wplus9 Design shared on youtube.  It's such a helpful little trick.  I used a very pale color ink to stamp my butterfly (Tim Holtz 'Scattered Straw' and Bo Bunny Butterflies stamp)....then applied clear water to the wings, then just lightly dabbed on some color to bleed into the wings.

For my title I used one of the new DA titles.....just loving all the new title options!  Here I used a piece from the Word Pack #18.  I gave it a coat of metalic and textured Shimmerz Texturez 'Teal Me No Lies'.

I also created a background color block behind my photo area using Shimmerz 'Glorious Day' and 'Chocolate Brownie' paints....and added a little Heidi Ho Blue into the design so that it looks like some ofthe color bled off the chipboard blooms onto the background design.

I used a bit of the DA foliage with some of the scatter blossoms from the Spring Blossoms #2 pack to  create my own little 3rd floral cluster.  I love that these floral chippies come with the extra tiny blooms, allowing you to get creative with your design!

I also did a little bit of stamping on my background design using a few of my own stamp designs (script stamp and chicken wire stamp....available at The Scrapbook Diaries).

I hope you enjoyed my project and video and hope you will get a little scrap time in this week....we all need a little creative therapy sometimes don't we!  Don't forget to play in this months Inspiration Board Challenge....be sure to use Dusty Attic chipboard in your design and to post a link to your project in the right side column of this blog!  For those of you looking for Dusty Attic Chipboard online in USA (also ship Internationally), you can find loads of Dusty Attic Chipboard at The Scrapbook Diaries and Moments of Tranquility.  Happy Scrapping! xo

Mixed Media Revamped Phone Cover {Bo Bunny - Penny Emporium}

Mixed Media Phone cover by Gabrielle Pollacco using Bo Bunny Penny Emporium collection and mixed media products

Hi all, it's Gabrielle here with you today to share a makeover I gave to an old phone cover.  My youngest daughter got a brand new phone a few months back and promptly lost/got it stolen when she was using a public washroom.  So she then inherited my oldest daughters cast off phone.  To cheer her up, I thought I'd fancy up the old phone case that was on it for her.

Here is a pic of the old phone cover....I think it even has a few bite marks in it from our naughty dog! But that was no problem, I just gave the phone case a quick brushing with some Gesso....when that dried I used some heavy gel paste with BoBunny's 'Brocade' Stickable Stencil over random sections of the surface. I left part of it flat/untextured so that I could add a bit of the Penny Emporium patterned paper as well.

Once the texture paste was dry, I gave the whole thing a coat of Chocolate Pearlescents, adding a streak of Graphite Pearlescents here and there, to give a nice brushed metalic look to it.  The decorating was easy-peasy, I just added a few chipboard cogs and then layered on some pieces from the Penny Emporium Layered Chipboard packet.  The final touch was to add some gems from the Double Dot Mocha Jewels packet.   The phone cover put a big smile on my daughters face!

Bo Bunny Products used in this Project:
Patterned Paper: Penny Emporium (6x6 paper pack)
Layered Chipboard: Penny Emporium
Stickable Stencils: Cascade
Pearlescents: Chocolate, Graphite
Double Dot Jewels: Mocha

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today, your kind words and feedback always make my day! xo
